I've been a bookscout for ages -- long enough to know that this is a process of continuous learning and sharing. I'm old school, if I see a book that I think is good, I generally acquire it. I look at titles and content first, bar codes and isbns come later. You might also notice that I also list text books, which are hardly rare. I do this to raise cash to squander on things like food, drink and shelter. If anyone is interested, I would be pleased to use this site as a place to discuss books, bookscouts, book sales, and anything related.
Here are some new acquisitions I have currently listed on Portland Craigslist. I've found that a cool way to find craigslist postings outside my area is to do a google search of a title or specific item and include the word craigslist. If searching for one of my listings, sometimes a google search can lead to an expired listing, even if the item has been reposted. Please check with me if there is any uncertainty. Dr. Gene Scott's Large Pint Wide Margin Edition of Tischendorf's New Testament. Copyight 1998, Dolores Press, Glendale, California. Large hardcover, burgundy leatherette, 414 pages, very good condition. I don't see a lot of scholarship offered by Dr. Scott, this work appears to be a facsimile copy of the Tauchnitz Edition published in 1869. A scarce edition by a controversial character.
